DESCRIPTION:Travelling in Search of Human Rights: Using art to express the marginalisation of travelling in search of human rights: How are identities shaped by migration in Africa and Europe?  If artists are making work about their experience, is their nationality necessary to mention? What are the connotations that come with referring to an artist by the place they come from or reside? Should artists be described as “Narnian-born, Shire-based”. Is the travelled history of an artist relevant? Borders in Africa are historically artificial, and in the online space, there are no borders to one’s identity, and yet in exhibitions, it becomes necessary to describe a work as that of an “immigrant”. Does an immigrant artist have to make work about this – what happens when they don’t?\n
