Blessing Xaba is a South African actor, journalist and web-video personality, who trained in musical theatre as a member of the KZN Young Performers Project, with highlights such as Hairspray and Seussical a year later in which he played Horton. During his matric year he’d begun working on the successful novel-turned film trilogy, Spud, playing the loveable glutton, Sidney ‘Fatty’ Scott. He has since taken on smaller screens, starring in Mzansi Magic’s The Road (2016), SABC 3’s Hard Copy(2017), and Tarryn & Sharon (2019). He is now an undergraduate in Journalism and Media, following the success of his Documentary, Ms Trans Diva which he co-directed for e-TV (2018). Blessing is an activist in the areas of African art, Women’s Rights, Gender and Sex Liberty as well as Decoloniality. Durban local patrons of theatre and similar arts have enjoyed him as a compere, panelist and workshop director or as their favorite live stage MC. After dazzling summer panto audiences as Nurse Nora in Kickstart’s Alice in Wonderland (2019), he’s due to get back on stage this year in a covid friendly production to be announced very soon!
