The Artfluence Human Rights Festival is coming up in May and we invite the youth to submit their images showcasing positive change. You are required to submit one image documenting positive change in your community and environment or positive change you wish to see in your community & environment. Inspired by the theme “Capturing Change: A Citizen’s Lens”
Two winning Categories
- R5000 PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY
- R5000 CAMERA PHOTOGRAPHY
- 10 best images to be selected for an exhibition during the festival
Eligibility and Guidelines:
- MUST be following the Artfluence page to qualify to participate
- Must submit x1 image in jpeg. format
- Smartphone photographs and camera photographs are allowed
- Must be a South African Citizen/Resident of South Africa
- Must be 18-35 years of age to be able to participate
- No previous photography experience necessary.
- Maximum of 5 years of professional/nonprofessional photography experience
- ONLY High-Resolution images will be accepted. NO SCREENSHOTS.
- Portrait & Landscape formats acceptable.
- Winners will be announced during the Artfluence Human Rights festival in May 2023.
Terms and conditions
- Images pushing a political party agenda will be automatically disqualified.
- Photographs must be in accordance with the values of the South African Constitution. Images that are racist, advance hate and/or depict nudity shall be disqualified.
- Images must be uploaded via the Google form and in .jpeg format with the photographer’s name, surname, and social media handle of their choice.
- A description/write-up about the image is optional, maximum 5 lines.
- Images containing people/children must be accompanied by a consent form/model release form that reassures us that the photographer has consented to photograph the person/people/guardian in the image, and they are aware about the usage of the images.
- All images submitted by the photographer automatically grant us permission & ownership to use for the purpose of the competition and shall we wish to use the images for any other purposes, we shall consent with the rightful owners of the images.
- The 10 best images will be selected and exhibited online during the event. 5 images from phone photography category & 5 from digital camera category.
Submissions will close on the 22nd of April at 17h00 SAST.
